Pet Odor Removal and Pet Stain Removal
We
all love our pets, but sometimes accidents do happen. Pet urine can cause permanent
damage to textiles as well as create an unhealthy indoor living environment
if not removed promptly. When urine is first deposited onto a carpet or fabric,
it is in a neutral state. This means it is easier to remove when it is fresh.
Once the urine is allowed to dry it turns to alkaline (thus the ammonia odor)
and becomes more difficult to remove. If left for months, depending on the fiber
type, it could permanently change the dye structure of the fabric and cause
the fiber to deteriorate. To prevent permanent staining urine deposits need
to be properly cleaned quickly.
We use state-of-the-art carpet cleaning equipment,
please refer to our home page, and have a very
high success rate for removing pet odor and pet stains from your carpet. However,
the success largely depends on how long the stain has been in the fiber and
if any incorrect treatments have been attempted. For instance, scrubbing the
stain will cause it to embed into the carpet fibers making it far more difficult
to remove. The correct procedure is to soak up the stain with a towel or sponge
by dabbing the area affected. After soaking up as much of the pet accident as
possible, call a professional.
Pet damage cleaning which includes pet urine stain and pet odor removal ranges
from just a normal cleaning to a major odor treatment. For moderate pet odor
and pet stain problems, we apply a topical solution for the odor, flood the
area with a special odor neutralizing solution, then extract the stain/odor
with our water claw tool used for sub-surface treatment. In extreme cases we
may have to remove and replace the padding and clean and treat both sides of
the carpet.
We Have Three Ways To Reduce Your Pet Odor and Pet Stain Problems
1. Minor Odor Treatment - We use an earth-friendly odor
eliminator, which is formulated for chemically sensitive people and safe for
your family and pets. The deodorizer is sprayed on each urine spot before cleaning
to neutralize the urine odor. This procedure will help reduce the odor but it
is not intended to remove severe odors as this is merely treating the surface
of the carpet. This will help reduce or control the problem but not eliminate
it. Minor odor can only be smelled if you are on your hands and knees or on
a humid day. If you can smell the odor when you walk in the room, this is not
minor odor problem.
2. Moderate Odor Treatment - Water claw sub surface extraction,
see the picture on the right. With this process, we saturate the spot with a
special oxidizing deodorizer so the cleaning agent reaches into the padding.
We then use the “water claw” sub surface extractor to pull the urine out. This
process will reduce the odor significantly, but may or may not completely cure
severe problems.
3. Major Odor Treatment - This is a full-blown odor treatment
designed to completely eliminate the odor. The carpet is pulled up and padding
discarded. The carpet is thoroughly cleaned on both sides with a deodorizer
and oxidizing agents that neutralize the urine. Subfloors may require sealing.
This procedure corrects most pet urine problems.
